EVERY PROVINCE. EVERY TERRITORY.

Find your community.

Explore 5,054 municipalities and equivalent areas, from major cities to rural townships and northern communities.

What the directory covers

The directory includes every census subdivision in Statistics Canada’s 2025 national file, with a geographic reference date of January 1, 2025. This includes municipalities and equivalent areas; not every entry is an incorporated city.

Some neighbourhoods, hamlets and familiar regional names sit within a larger municipality. Search the municipal name or include any Canadian place in your property enquiry. Boundaries and official names may change after the reference date.

Maps show generalized community boundaries, including water where present in the source. They do not establish parcel ownership, a legal survey, land availability or permitted use.

Adapted from Statistics Canada, Census Subdivision Boundary File, 2025, reference date January 1, 2025. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
